VICRYL RAPIDE™ Suture is the fastest-absorbing Ethicon synthetic suture and is indicated for use in superficial soft tissue approximation of the skin and mucosa, where only short-term wound support is required

It is a synthetic absorbable suture intended to model the performance of collagen (surgical gut) suture with less tissue reaction.

VICRYL RAPIDE Suture is intended for use in soft tissue approximation where only short term wound support is required and where the rapid absorption of the suture would be beneficial.

Due to its absorption profile VICRYL RAPIDE is useful for skin closure, particularly in pediatric surgery, episiotomies, circumcision and closure of oral mucosa. VICRYL RAPIDE is also successfully used in ophthalmic surgery for conjunctival sutures.
